A Post Turtle?
I received this email from my old teammate from S/S plt. It seems pretty accurate.
THE POST TURTLE
While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, whose hand was caught in the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Sarah Palin and her bid for VP.
The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Palin is a 'Post Turtle''.
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was.
The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.
The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain. 'You know she didn't get up there by herself, she doesn't belong up there and she doesn't know what to do while she's up there, and you just wonder what kind of jackass put her up there to begin with'.

Re: A Post Turtle?
That's fucking CLASSIC. Personally, I think Palin would look better in my BED, then in bed with the old cronies workin' that good-ole-boy network. She's hot as hell, but, just cause she looks good, is NOT an indicator of her political prowess. Your post, Hawg, is RIGHT ON THE MONEY. Alaska's pretty far out to begin with, they don't contribute a whole lot, aside from their natural resources and such. Which means that someone who runs that state is NOT gonna have a real good idea of how to run a COUNTRY, much less respond to world affairs.

Alaska does a hell of a lot more for our country than Delaware or Wyoming. The economy of Alaska is probably some of the most complex in the nation, given the natural resource finances that their gov't must deal with. Negotiating with the likes of Exxon or BP has to be more complex than whatever the Governor of Montana has to deal with - right?
So, by your definition, which states have governors who are qualified to lead?

Because, simply, Exxon and the rest of them only pass the cost of THEIR lawyers onto the general public in the form of, "Oh, it costs so much to make this gasoline for you all to use, we have to raise the price again." All the while riding around in their personal jets, which use more oil based fuel than all the commuters in this country who simply drive to work and back everyday.
Secondly, you need to check your facts, and I don't mean some list somewhere that lists how much money or how many people are there. Wyomings gross state product, among other things, is beef. What did YOU have for dinner tonight?
Lastly, Palin's scandal concerning the law enforcement agency(s) in her state should be food enough for rethought. Maybe you oughta take a closer look at that first.
