RE: DSL or Cable
I had 5 great years with DSL. As far as downloading shit....cable is better. But DSL is the shit for gaming.
I can remeber only timing out while gaming 3 times in the last 3 years. I had it timeout 3 times in half a week with cable. Piece of shit Time Warner/Comcast!!!!

RE: DSL or Cable
DSL will almost alway be better for gaming. You dealing with two different technologies for one. xDSL is a dedicated ATM circut you should be getting whatever you servica plan is set to. Cable on the other hand is still a shared service even today. You still have to share ALL AVAILABLE BANDIWTH with the people in your area that are on the same node. No matter what they say you DL/Up speed should be. So if someone is raping with a peer to peer app, or the provider has oversold the area your in your connect is going to suffer with cable.

RE: DSL or Cable
I do not time out. Also its sound like you have problem with your svc. I love when people call up my sales dept at my company pissing and moaning about things not working, but when you ask them. Have you called technical support to fix it? There answer is generally NO. I mean our society has become spoiled, i got have it now, and I am not gonna take the time to fix it society. No saying you fall in that area skev because i know u to be tech savvey guy. Plus I am writing this at work so I am still in my afternoon funk.

RE: DSL or Cable
Gotta love the small Canadian population..lol
Nah, rogers actually kicks ass for internet.... Wicked speeds, I rarely time out, although my ping is usually in the 40-60's, the server is far south and well, I run other apps while I game....
If you're next to the DSL sever, its the best, but attenuation would kill me as all the servers are 1hr from here (downtown)....
