Gas prices making you happy

I was thinking. Gas on base is 1.83 and off base at the QT by my house is 1.89.

Do you remember when we gas hit two dollars? Everyone was pissed off and talking about striking and what not.

Now gas is under or damn near close to two dollars again and everyone acts like this is the best thing since the discovery of oil.

First, what are the gas prices where you live and how do you feel since they dropped.

Gas by work is 1.86, saw as low as 1.81 on the drive between home and work. Prices are higher by where I live, haven't gotten gas there in a while, so not sure how much. I am very glad prices are back down, especially since I have a long commute, and gas makes up the majority of my current spending.

Last I saw, gas was either $1.99 or $2.09, they've been changing it a lot, so I'm not sure what it is roughly anymore.

I'm happy, yet fearful. I'm just waiting for the gas prices to shoot back up again. I don't think it'll last. Might as well try to enjoy it while I can though because I'm guessing as soon as the economy is stable again, gas will be back up to $4-5+ per gallon. :3

And on top of that, I heard last month, that OPEC said they were going to cut back producution in a month because not many people are buying gas.

suck my balls, its 2.43 a gallon is the cheapest here (2.38 if you pay in cash) and the cheapest i've heard/seen in arizona so far is around 2.30 a gallon

They charge you different amounts depending on whether your charge it or pay cash? That sucks.

That bad thing about prices coming down is that we will prolly become complacent again. This country needs to achieve energy independance and high gas prices push us in that direction.

Still around $2.20 here in Birmingham. Certainly much better than it was so I am trying not to bitch too much. We are still paying more per gallon at the current crude prices than we were before. If it drops below $2.00 I am going to drive to the lake and fill my boat up.

I just paid $1.99 at a Chevron in Richardson. RaceTracks in the area usually runs $0.10 cheaper or thereabouts. My in-laws said that they were paying $1.83 outside of Austin a week ago.
