    You got me there.

But I can walk out my door and get to see models, punkers with two foot spiked mohawks, hipsters working in the local coffee shop, all within 3 blocks of my house. This would be seen on the way to one of a dozen gourmet restaurants and wine bars as well as the epicenter of the Chicago punk scene. But of course, none of this is as satisfying as killing some "vermin" every once in a while, in my skivvies no less.
Within about a 5 minute driving radius of my house:

Ocean, 5 lakes, forest everywheres, 6 parks, 10 restaurants, a small town including marinas, numerous farms, a ferry to get off my island home, 2 rock climbing crags with great views of the surrounding islands, a farmers market, a beekeeper, a venue that sports live music every night in the summer, my welding job, and much more.

My house looks out over a small wetland valley, with a lake in the bottom. Old farmland all around. I can only see 6 other homes as far as I can see. The lake with nice rainbow trout is a 2 minute walk down a field...

Free homegrown veggies, and scrumptious home cooked meals of hunting and fishing outings top it off!

Only 10,000 people on the whole Island.

I wouldn't pass this much variety up for much at all, so to each his own!
where the fuck do you live, and whose leg do I have to hump to become your roommate??
    Seriously!

    City.

Well its called the "City" of Chandler. But really everything in Arizona is suburbs, except for a few places in Phoenix. Just a shit load of people packed in these suburbs.

    Re: City or Rural

Born in Mobile, AL, stayed till I was three, spent 2 more years in Tuscaloosa Alabama, spent the rest of my life in a small town of 20-30 thousand in west georgia called LaGrange. Been living in tokyo for two months as of the 15th, wih Japan being the 12th country I've been to and making Asia my 5th continent. I guess I've had a mix of everything, but I'll vote for country cause nothing beats LaGrange in the end.

Ditto, but I was raised in a bigger city.

This "State Capital" feels tiny compared to Orlando, lol.

    Re: City or Rural

Born and raised in the burbs.....First ring burb, just North of Minneapolis.

I LOVE it here! If I drive South about 6 miles,I'm at my favorite Eastern European Deli (Kramarczuks for those in the know),surrounded by tall buildings and things happening all around.Bars, live music, we have 3 lakes in Minneapolis proper....simply beutiful.

If i drive North...I'm in the country.10,000+ lakes, farms, and small-town bars. My most productive deer stand(my happy place ) is only just over an hour away.We get the best of both worlds here in Suburbia.

BTW...Hawg...Where in Sconny is/was your family cabin? I'm all over Western Sconny and have family there.

    Re: City or Rural

right now im in a small POS town, between Lordsburg, NM and Globe, AZ. Nothing to do here and surrounded by dumbass right-wingers (Note by that i don't mean tha right-wingers are dumbasses, just the people here are dumbasses and on the right-wing). Sucks soooo bad.

Oh and if you couldn't tell til now i've always lived in the city/suburb whatever you want to call it. Like mud said anywhere in the valley of the sun is a suburb of phoenix even though we all have huge populations (well cept for tempe because we are completely land locked). Plus being in a big college town of a party college (used to live in tempe) loved being able to go out and do shit anytime of the day. Now in this little POS town everything is closed by 10pm...wtf?

Dude that is harsh. Live there for work or what?

When I lived overseas, I was mostly in the city. As in downtown skyrise apartment type stuff. Here in AZ, it's all burbs..
