Re: Break-In
We use a fleet of F150's with that keypad. I know of 7 laptops that have been stolen from our Ford trucks. The police say they are using code readers and catching your key fob signal. In your case it looks different because they busted your lock. Regardless I have seen and heard about way too many F150's being targets for crime. I drive one as well for my company vehicle but mine is a little older and does not have that keypad on the door.

Re: Break-In
I used to know some rather shady characters in my day when I was a teenager... one fool I knew made a reasonable (for a teenager) living selling *cough* used car stereos...
Stories I heard lead me to believe that many car alarms are not to hard to bypass for skilled criminals, I have been amazed at the lengths they go to or creative thinking that goes into getting around security...
laying under the vehicle and cutting the wires to the battery for a car whose alarm is without proximity sensors comes to mind as one of the more simple ideas that I was like "no sh!t"
Sorry to hear about your stuff.

well thats like i lived in a neighborhood that was know to be more lower middle class, and we didn't have as much problems with crime as people i know who lived in The Lakes.
Basically they do break-ins in The Colony because its a nice area so they know people have money, which in turns mean there is some good loot to rip off. Whereas in a bad neighborhood, they figure its unlikely they are going to get anything worthwhile.
Its like if you wanted to buy real diamonds, where would you expect to find the best diamond, Tiffany's or Super Pawn?

Re: Break-In
That sucks mike..... About 3 weeks ago on weds we got broke into. I was playing or posting and it was about 1:30 in the A.M. i went out back to have a smoke and seen my dome light on. I went to go nudge the door to see if it was open slightly and it wasn't. I had to open the door to get in and turn the light off manually only to find my sony head unit missing..... I looked in the back and my 1000Watt amp with my 2 boxed in 10" subs gone as well.
They also got into my shed and took a weed eater and two 1gallon gas cans which had no gas in them. I immediately called the cops and made a report. After the cop left I shut and locked all the windows to the house and car and will till I die. Shit pisses me off to no end.
Seems like the break ins are escalating since the fall season. Be aware everyone.
