As a long time Trekkie, I am excited to see this. It looks like it gets away from Roddenberry's happy future and more akin to the dark future presented in DS9 and Voy under Braga and the newer writers. But that is OK; I am a fan of everything Star Trek.

This looks good. I, too, am a long time Trekkie - in fact, as we speak, my DVR is set to record every episode of Voyager, DS9, and TNG that comes on TV.

At first I was not excited about this...everything was cool until I saw the inside of the ship and the Zach Morris looking Captain Kirk.

Im getting more excited though. I am cautiously optimistic that JJ won't screw it up.

If you walk in expecting it to be mediocre and its cool, then you win.

I don't think there'll be any need to worry. JJ is an amazing director. I have yet to see him release anything that has sucked. Casting was iffy on my part, but now that I've seen actual footage I'm a lot less worried.
