The one surviving gunman has reportedly told authorities that he is a member of a Pakistani group called Lashkar-e-Taiba, which has ties to Kashmir. For years the group, whose name means "army of the righteous," has been trying to start a war between India and Pakistan over the disputed Himalayan province of Kashmir.

The attack was purely symbolic, and the attackers accomplished their objective.

Now, we shall witness it's affects.
