    Surviving terrorist

So they have one of the terrorists in custody after the three day attacks in India. This provides us an organic example that cannot be dismissed as fearmongering.

What to do with survivor? Why did you vote this way?

Do you have any information, or links, about what he was detained for, and what he is being charged with? I would say it will vary depending on whether this is considered "war", or just common crime.

From the news I am hearing, he survived the 3 day battle that just came to a close.

This poll is designed to see whether people distinguish between war and crime.

I was searching to see if India was one of the 194 countries to ratify the Geneva Convention. I did not look hard, but did not find an answer. I would guess they have, and if so then I guess he is technically a prisoner of war, and should be treated as such in accordance with International law.

    I agree with civil.
I did not vote because there is no "act in accordance with Geneva Convention, to the fullest extent" choice. You offer only 1) essentially agreed law or 2) do the bare minimum.

People nowadays can't distinguish between the two. If it were up to Americans, Osama Bin Laden would have access to the best lawyers in the United States, and arrive at his court date with a limo.......

I'm not sure how their legal system works over there, but I view that as an act of war.

Couldn't care less what they do to this so-called person. The way I see it,they(terrorists) are not human. They have no soul. They target innocent people, just trying to go about their days and live happy peacefull lives. And for what? Because they believe their God is better than someone elses.
They should get as much info as they can,any way they can to protect other people. Then put that animal down.No different than a dog with a history of violent attacks.

India did sign the Geneva conventions. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/134999

Is it possible for an individual to declare war on a country and would the attacked country consider it to be a war?

Should a serial killer be afforded a lawyer and be considered innocent before proven guilty?

    Re: Surviving terrorist

This is the most extreme example of the circumstance. This isn't someone who was picked up in the fields of Afghanistan claiming that his neighbor pointed him out as a terrorist to settle a property dispute. This is someone who lived through the terrorist attack and is now in custody. It doesn't get much more raw than that. Curious about what you all think should be done.
