Well I have not seen the obtopsie, so lets say the guy is fat. If he eats and stays up he wont die because is body may be used to that. Plus if a unhealthy kid stays up all night or is on meds, that don't really put anything on the body staying up.
Take this for ex. a guy flew around the world , or Antarctica, he did not sleep for three days. Then all of a sudden he goes to sleep. Then when he heard his alt gauge ping, he woke up. It was not a good one but he woke up and felt a little better. Now back to the subject at hand.
Here. If the obtopsie come in and the kid has nothing, then something happen. Parrents do shit that others think is not polite. Like I said video games are only to pass the time. Not to learn how to do violent things or kill you. All parents have different views. If you look at his parents they were to busy do talk to the boy. If the boy had more sense ( if he had bad health) he would notice that a pain in his body. Collapse do happen suddenly but there is a moment where you get a headache, or something else.

extended gaming sessions can be perfectly fine if properly planned and as long as basic hygiene functions are performed. as long as you drink enough water, go to the bathroom regularly, and eat, its fine when you stop doing those things, it becomes dangerous, and only an idiot would forget to do something like go to the bathroom or not eat. in pretty much all of these cases, you see things like not eating or drinking enough and neglecting usage of the toilet. its freakin common sense. these people are idiots.

Ben...its autopsy, and the kid didn't die.
As far as the gaming marathons. It's both the kid and the parent's fault in my opinion. Kids that young shouldn't be pulling marathons like that. At the very least, the parents should have told them to get off the computers to eat something properly. The kid should have realized something was wrong well before getting to that stage. I know I've pulled some long marathons when I was that age (6 hours a day in Unreal, a few all-nighters) and I wouldn't feel hungry or tired because I was in the zone, but after a while it does get to you.
In closing, the parents shoulda made him take a break, and its his own damned fault for not realizing something was wrong sooner. When you can't really focus on the game anymore, maybe you should take a break.

who the hell would play that shit game for more then even an hour straight? itss a worthless MMO, all you do is run around, wheres the strategy in that?
Now at least playing Anarchy Online for 20 hours straight would make sense, since that is actually a good game with depth and strategy.
