I am embarrased for the Iraqi's, as they are embarassed for themselves.

One idiot with a pair of shoes should not be the Hero of a once glorious Empire, such is Iraq. One Idiot with a pair of shoes; Hell, we all have a pair of shoes. Only the most disfunctional of us, uses those shoes in an act of agreesion and in front of the entire damn world.

Everyone seems to have a funny video of this incident, but not much in the way of serious thinking. Perhaps that's what they expect of us; distract our little minds with funny videos while the real Issues just skirt right by, unnoticed.

The real Issue, the "Real Issue" is now Presidental security. After this past weeks events, it's clear that it's now has it's weakness's. Thats the real Issue.

The Alternate Issue is, the gathering, organizing, anger of the Iraqi people, and the want for their independence; free of American occupation. It's probably inevitable that their freedom will come, sooner that later I think.

Obviously, they have some Issues with George Bush; however, in one months time, George Bush will be in the History books and a new direction for the world is brewing.

So, now that we talka bout some seriosu stuff, I'll go back to watching some funny videos of our President being attacked with various Items.

Presidential security is none of the issue. You can bet that weapon security in that room was tighter than a seal's ass.

That footage was intentionally cleared for public consumption. It was cleared to show that the U.S. is a good sport and that throwing shoes isn't enough to land one in Guantanamo.

I agree about the security issue. That place was water tight. There is no possible way to expect the security detail to prevent someone from throwing shoes. (By the way, to hit someone with a shoe or to even direct the bottom of your foot towards someone is one of the deepest insults in that region of the world)

As far as the intentional clearance of the footage, this would be a an ingeniously tactical move. I didn't think of it this way, but it makes a lot of sense.
