    You Uninstall the Sound Drivers.....

Then you restart your computer, and you get a "Fatal System Error". We all know that sound cards don't crash entire systems. So I used the repair tool, and let me tell you it repairs it all right and gives you an additional load time on everything you do! So at this point my Windows XP was toasted, I had no sound from the onboard. (Not to mention the reason I was doing all this was because my sound card had died)

So I had to reinstall windows to get it to run at a normal pace after backing up tons of crap. Of course as I mentioned earlier a sound card driver should never kill your entire system so after I had wasted a couple hours setting my machine back up on top of the time I had spent trying to fix it after the uninstall I still had no volume. Device manager claimed the device "Is working fine" but starts to give me an error after microsoft's little program tries to update the drivers for me. Which isn't quiet the icing to the cake.....

So after doing using my good ole buddy google I find it.....Microsoft decided they were going to give me the wrong drivers through automatic updates which according to a multitude of forums results in a mass volume failure along with other system side effects. In my case a "Fatal Error", in which I had to spend another 10ish minutes finding drivers from the company that was bought out that manufactored the drivers for my computer back in 2005.

So basically they replaced my onboard sound drivers which crashed my computer in the first place. I hate microsoft some days and I hate Automatic updates even more. Don't let this sh*t happen to you.

Yeah, MS has made some mistakes with their updating. I trusted them a little much with my new computer and ended up having something like sql server 2005 installed on my computer. I was wondering why my performance was dropping.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
