Trust this with your life?

I just got full U.S. Army Official Digital Camouflage last night from my friend who's in the army. He was on guard duty and his Sargent came up to him ask if he wanted some extra uniforms from AWOL Recruits. He says yes and i got the whole bit. The jacket, the pants but no hat or boots. I was looking at the layout of the camo and didn't know which camo to trust.

Which is better to trust your life with if you were a solider?

Digital woodland/urban camo or the old Vietnam jungle camo?

The digital looks good but i still think the old jungle camo works better.

Well since I don't have a choice anymore one what uniform I wear I have to wear the digital ones.

If the old jungle was so great why would the military have spent so much time and money on digi? Oh yeah, it is the government.

whats with the digital camo? i always thought splotches would be more believable not a bunch of little squares. Is there a reason for the switch to digital?

bigger color patches = more contrast.

smaller color patches = less contrast.

i thought camo was meant to grey you out..... small colors segments will grey anything out. its like zooming in and out on pixels.

all they are are pixels...

And digital is much more effective than the traditional camouflage, hence why they are using it now. My brother told me that everyone in the Air Force (or at least on his base) needed to have their shit switched out by like April of '09 or some shit.

The digital camo is all about dithering. Printing lots of colors is very expensive. From a distance, tho, the digital camo's colors blend and look a lot more natural than the old solid color blobs with defined edges.

Also, I think the digital camo is better at covering movement ('active' camo), more like tiger stripes.

Could be wrong, though.

Digi cammo is all about breaking your silouet up which it does absolutley beautifully. Old stuff was to defined Digi from a distence just blends you into your background.
