Weight lifting guru's. Supp question
Most importantly what I need to know, is androgen considered an illegal steroid?
I know it use to be legal, as did ephedra but recently they've tightened up on the rules and you don't see these products on most shelves.
I'm looking for a supplement to boost my workout and burn some fat ( although that's not my concentration).
If it is considered illegal I've been reading up on dhea, what do you think of that? I have to be careful about what I take because next semester hopefully I'll be trying out for a university track team.
Right now im interested in a boost in intensity mostly I take nothing at the moment and I get decent results but my workouts are starting to flatten out.
I've tried different supplements through the years and come to the conclusion that most don't do or have exactly what they claim so I tend to stay away from muscle tech, and all those other companies. I'm not looking for any bcaa's or N.O. products.
Please spare me the " Just work hard for the results you want " speech I only want supplement advice, thanks.

You're body can in only one direction. Muscle building or fat loss. If you want fat loss, then just burn more calories then you consume. The trick is try to hold on to the muscle mass, so don't starve yourself.
As far as steroids or anything like that, those are for losers. Stay clear away from that crap, it's nothing but bad news.
Edit: I forgot to add that if your workouts are getting flat, take a two week break. Your body will become accustomed to a particuliar stress after about six to eight weeks. After this time your muscles stop responding. So you either switch up your workouts or just take a break to reset the switch.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Androgen
Androgens are also the original anabolic steroids.
***Edit***
Just realized that didn't answer the "illegal". Sorry...

I don't know about the lregality of Androgen, or androstndion(sp?), but they jumpstart the body's production of testosterone, which should help you get over that plateau. As far as other supplements, I have had very good results in the past with the use of Creatine.
Trigger is on target with the breaks in routine, it gives your muscle more time to recover fully, and you will see positive results as soon as you get back to the gym. Anotherr good thing to do is every once in a while, change up the routine. For example, let's say you chest/back on mon, bi's/tri's on wed,shoulders/legs fri (4 exercises per body part/4 sets per exercise/12 reps per set) after a couple months of switch up your routine, to where you do full body routines(one exercise per body part/4 sets per exercise/12 reps per set).....to get even trickier, you can do supersets or negatives(spotter needed). You should also take into account the time between sets, normal is no less than 3 and no more than 5.
The bigger your muscles get, the more calories are burnt helping those muscles recover as well as maintaining the mass. So in a nutshell, as you gain more mass, you might not lose more weight, but you wil lose body fat and gain lean muscle......
I hope this helps as well.

When I did I gained a good amount of muscle mass, I'm just weary of it sometimes because it gave me a lot of grief when I ran track. But that was probably due to not stretching and eating the right foods. I'm far more dedicated than I was 2 or 3 years back so I might take creatine as a suggestion.
Do you do pill form or powder? And also do you just take straight monohydrate? and how many mg's do you take in a serving, and how many servings do you normally take?
Has anyone ever dabbled with testosterone boosters?

Start by taking 5 teaspoons a day for 5 days. Space out the servings every 2-3 hours. After that, take 1 serving every non workout day and 2 every workout day. It's very important that you increase your water intake. Creatine is stored in your muscles by water transport. A good rule of thumb is to drink a gallon of water a day, throughout the day and not all at once.
Your muscles will appear fuller because of the increased water uptake from the creatine. You will notice that you can maintain your strength levels for longer and your workouts will be more satisfying, I guarantee it.
