Billy was a native texan.  Born in Corpus Christie.....

Billy was one of the greatest pianest of our time.  That man could do anything on them hammers.  It deff. is a great loss for Southern Rock, Rock and Roll, and music in general. 

This only leaves gary rossington left  (as far as original members).  Get out and see them this year guys, may be skynyrds last year of touring.....

Ronnie Vanzant (deceased - plane crash)
Steve Gains    (deceased - Plane crash)
Alan Colins  (Deceased - chronic pneumonia)
Gary Rossington (Still Touring with Skynyrd)
Artimus Pyle  (no longer in band)
Leon Wilkinson  (Heart Attack)
Billy Powell  (Official Cause Unknown)

Artimus and Gary remain the only 2 living members left who survied the plane crash.
