Best War Movies
Since the academy awards are coming up just wondering what peoples thoughts were on the subject. Found this list a while back, what do you guys think? Also some movies included that dont agree with and some left out, perhaps a top 50 would be good.

Saving Private Ryan...........the opening 15 minutes of the movie show What D-Day Really was like. My dad has a friend that was there and saw the movie. He said the only difference was there was more smoke in the movie.
Having been to the Omaha Beach Memorial I Learned alot of the Scope of that invasion. I Suggest that everyone take a trip to Normandy. For those of you who don't "like" French people you. as was I , Pleasantly surprised to find the people of Normandy to be very Friendly Warm and very Accomodating, and most of all most of the people speak english. I was lucky enough to spend a week there in 2001 in February-March. We flew into London and took a trip across to France in the Channel Tunnel and drove down the coast road to Normandy. All the bunkers from Calais to Omaha Beach line the road and most still have gun emplacements still there.Having walked on Omaha Beach was Amazing! We tried walking up to the memorial and had a hell of a time, it had rained early in the morning,I said to my wife half way up that this would have been Hell carrying a 60lb pack with Germans shooting at you ! But the scope is what hit me. I thought 5 beaches maybe a five mile wide assault........NO WAY from Sword beach to Utah Beach its about 200 Kilometers !
