Musicians
Hello TTP!
I've been curious as to what people do outside of the video game world. And for this particular question, I'd love to know if anybody plays an instrument? I've seen a few posts here and there, but figured we could consolidate into one thread.
I play several instruments, but mainly stick with the drums. I've got a wine-red Pearl Export 5 piece kit. I rock a Tama Iron Cobra II double kick pedal, and Vic Firth 5B sticks. Cymbals are all Zildjians: 14" quickbeat hi-hat, 16" A custom Armand thin crash, 14" A custom fast crash, 20" A custom medium ride, 18" China-low, and 8" and 10" ZHT splashes.
I also play the bass - I've got a Black and white Rickenbacker 4003 and a new Natural Finish PRS - which has the best slap sound of any bass I have ever played.
I used to play piano (seven years of lessons) and I also dabbled with guitars and the mandolin.
So what do YOU play?

Re: Musicians
I love Rickenbacker basses! Great tone
I got into playing music around 16 years ago now, and play guitar, bass, banjo, a bit o' keys, and percussion... Gave up on the violin. :P
For geetar, my pride and joy ATM is a 1959 Guild CE-100D, a beautiful old hollow body.
I can't find a pic of one, as there were ~100 or so made per year... this one's a '65, and the only real cosmetic difference is the pickups. Mine are old single coils with a white covers. If I had a digital camera, I'd post a pic up!
I've only got one bass, and it's a 1970 or '71 Fender custom Jazz bass that was given to me by a friend and sometimes bandmate who toured extensively, and recorded a couple albums with it. It's got some history, as the band, 'The Grapes of Wrath' did fairly well for a Canadian band.
There's a 1925 Weymann tenor banjo in my collection that kicks serious ass, too... That thing is gorgeous, and sounds even better.
I play in several bands ranging from country (guitar) to samba (percussion) to classic rock (bass) to punk (guitar) to jazz (bass/guitar). I still don't earn enough to pay the bills, so a hobby it remains, but a damn good one.

I have played the guitar for almost 15 years now. In the 90s, I was big into Progressive Rock/Heavy Metal, but I transitioned over to Hard Rock/Modern Rock in 2001-2003, but got heavily into Blues and Classic Rock over the past few years.
I have a "few" instruments.
Guitars
2007 Fender Telecaster American Deluxe w/Lindy Fralin high output pickups (my baby)
2008 Fender Stratocaster American Standard (my new baby)
2006 Fender Telecaster Custom (mexi with bridge humbucker)
1996 Jackson Dinky (recently revived)
199x Ibanex RG770 - (needs electronics cleaning)
1997 Ovation Acoustic
2003 Yamaha Acoustic 12 String
Amplifiers
1975 Fender Deluxe Reverb Silver Face
2005 Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue
1964 Gibson GA77-RVT (50 watt, 15" speaker)
2007 Roland Cube 60 (solide state - pretty whoop ass amp)
2008 Fender Hotrod Deluxe w/additional 12" cabinet (latest amp)
Pedals
Cry Baby Wah
Digitech Whammy
Fulltone FullDrive 2
Homebrew Electronics Power Screamer
Analogman Ibanez Tube Screamer TS9 (modified)
Analogman Boss Tremolo (modified)
Fulltone Fat Boost
EHX Small Clone
EHX Small Stone
EHX Holy Grail Reverb
Line6 Verbzilla
Keely Katana Booster (new... probably replace the Fat Boost in my pedal line)
Boss TU-2 Tuner Pedal (must have!!!)
A man can never have too many pedals...
I currently play in a Classic Rock band called "The Tune Raiders". Cheesy, yes, but we rock out a ton of classics from Clapton and Cream, Jimi, CCR, Skynard, Molly Hatchet, SRV, Journey, John Mellancamp, Van Morrison, AC/DC, Dire Straits, The Kinks, and even a bit of Elvis. Most acts around town are Blues only or bands that do originals, and bars are tired of that crap, so I get gigs every week or every other week.
Carbine BBq labels it grandpa music, but at least we get gigs...

And I am strictly a Fender man. I have owned Gibsons before, but they became dust collecters. I perefer the longer scale length of Fender guitars. Also, I prefer the single coil sound... you need to work harder to get them to sing, but when you get it... noting is sweeter.
