The defensiveness of kids..
is absolutely RIDICULOUS.
My friends just got caught in a web of violence, and are now targeted by the #1 gang at my school, besides a seniors and above group.
We were in Biology1 Honors yesterday, and we were sitting in a group working on a test review over evolution and natural selection, history of Darwin, etc.
The popularity queen of Freshman class, Alex, walks into the room with the "bodyguards." Most people call them this because they are basically a few gang-affiliated kids who follow her around everywhere and start shit with anyone who looks at her wrong.
Well, my best friend Angela was pointing out the failure of one of our classmates, and it was basically a nerdy kid who popped a boner when Alex walked by. We had just at that point noticed that Alex was in the room, so we turned, still laughing, and saw the "bodyguards."
One of those kids, Freddie, has a long-standing animosity going on with me. That got worse when I recently broke up with my girlfriend (he has 1st period with her, and has since developed a friendship with her).
Today, I am home sick, and I get texts from everyone saying that I'm lucky as hell, because this kids gang, FKR (Fight, Kill, Run), is looking for me. All of this because apparently me and my friends were laughing at Freddie. I honestly was a tad bit scared, because this gang HAS murdered a couple of people and beat up numerous others. I'm not a fighter either, I'm not too bulky, I can only bench like ~130. I'm an academic musician, I don't need muscle.
However after speaking with a lot of people, they say that they will try and clear this up for me as soon as possible, in fear that they will go after my friends. I am not worried about my guy friends as much as I am worried about Angela. If these kids even go up to her she will cry and most likely faint. Jacob and Daniel are both highly athletic, fast, and strong.
I just think that this is all fucking stupid, the insecurity levels of these kids is crazy. You look at them wrong and they send their entire gang on you and your friends?
Hopefully everyone will make it through this without a scratch.

Maybe I really do live that spoiled of a life... I live in Colorado, East of Denver, suburbia. I go to pretty much the second most prestigious high school in the state, and I haven't seen anything that would even hint of gangs, criminal activity (other than the Hummer that busted into the front door. The guy tried to kill himself. I don't think he realized that walls aren't that solid), or any type of threats.
From what I gather from friends, cousins, family friends, their immediate family, etc and teachers, there isn't much "gang" activity in schools. If there are gangs in schools, I've been living in a pampered world... The closest I've seen is one of my second cousins getting caught shoplifting, and then busted by the state police for using drugs."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

What is funny is when someone (like me) takes their little threats and involves the police.
Police tend to scare most kids.
See how they like some mace or a stun gun?
How is it you know they have murdered someone but they are free to walk around? I am guessing if they had actually killed someone no one would know about it, and they would not be the types of kids you would find still attending school.
I dropped out and I knew a few bad apples growing up...they did not care much who interfered. I knew a kid who stabbed another kid in the neck, killing him. He was on the run and got caught eventually. I had another friend who was trying to shoplift at a Target or some such store and ended up hospitalizing two security guards he beat down with a crowbar before the cops caught up with him; of course he tried to fight with them too. Another buddy of mine when I was young, pistol whipped a dude who owed him money and shoved him in the trunk of a car. Lucky for the dude in the trunk they crashed the car, and ditched the scene. Of course the cops caught them. Real criminals... none of them were in school, nor with the uber popular girl. They are scum. I knew a lot more of them, and none of them fit that model.
The ones who really dangerous you never knew what had done because they hid it.
Kids crack me up.
