Could the country go bankrupt?
I was listening to the news a few minutes ago (Fox News Channel), and I overheard them talking about a poll they took, asking whether or not people thought this country could/would go bankrupt (I cant remember the exact wording, and I was unable to find the poll on their website yet).
The numbers were a bit discouraging...They broke the poll up into Democrat votes, Republcian votes, and independent votes.....all three categories were well over 50% on the yes side (58% was the lowest). Do you guys agree?

The recession is already a reality, and IMHO the depression is not far around the corner. I guess that depends on what you mean by bankrupt. I foresee a "market correction" where entertainment is not so valued, where people get back to making products of value, and where we can't pay our foreign debtors.

Nah, I think it's a little different than like a company. We aren't employees of the government. We are the bosses and we need to do our jobs in making sure our employees are doing theirs. Can't go bankrupt because we have one of the most valueable assets in the entire world, America.
