Re: What's a Trillion Dollars Look Like?
Years ago Dave Barry came up with a new unit of currency - The Stealth. The was when the B-2 Stealth bomber came on line at almost $1B each. Only 21 have ever been built. $1T is 1,000 Stealths.
My blood pressure just went up again. Thanks guys.

If an average family has 3.14 people (census figure), then the average family owes about $100,000 of national debt.
About 10% of families are below the poverty level, so families with even a little money are burdened with $110,000 because of the poverty folks.
The median family income is about $50,000.
To pay off $110,000 in 4 years at 2% (T-Bill rate and Obama's term) requires about $2385/month in federal taxes.
Any family payin' more than $2385/month in federal income tax is pullin' their weight. Otherwise they're dead weight!
Basically the average household income would have to rise to $145K/year for us to pay this off in 4 years at the current tax rates. Not gonna happen.
