Well it been what a week and we have responded with a new line in the sand. Obamas a pussy. He didn't have to go to war but just to do nothing no talks like they said they were going to be. I guess he handles thing by looking the other way. Theres an aproach that has worked well in the past. let me see yup thats how we entered WW2. Good plan Obama.

Status quo, Death, it's all about the status quo.
Why rock the boat, I mean, it's not like North Korea is hurting anyone......yet......
We should just leave them alone and pretend they don't exist. I mean, hell, it's not like they're launching missiles or anything against any treaties or agreements.
/sarcasm.

yeah and preemptive strikes to stop "The evil powers" has worked well hasn't it?
War in Iraq, Vietnam
What about WWI, we didn't get involved in that til the Russians backed out, i didn't see anyone attacking America then because we ignored the Germans.
Its like saying "because we'z in da Iraqz and Afghanistan, Terrorists no mess with usz!!!!" Yeah, i'm sure its that .
And yes Obama is such a pussy, how dare he do whats best for our interests by not deciding to drop a nuke on NK, HOW DARE HE
Conservatives crack me up

First off, Vietnam was NOT any kind of "preemptive strikes." If you bother to pay attention in school at all, you'd know that. It was a long, dragged out, little by little, war that started out with the North Vietnamese trying to take over South Vietnam, for several reasons, not the least of which being, access to ports and the desire to 'unify' Vietnam...(under communist rule, of course, which the South Vietnamese wanted no part of....until the end of the war, when they realized, better to be alive than dead).
Second off, Iraq is ADDITIONALLY not (nor ever was) a "preemptive strike." If you would pay more attention to the news (what little of it is factually accurate) Iraq invaded....lemme say that again, you might have missed it....Iraq INVADED, Kuwait, and additionally had further plans to move into Qatar and other "minor" countries, in the hopes of "unifying" the Middle East against the Western Evil. That was the first time. The second time, regardless of what everybody wants to argue about (in another thread) Iraq had made overt moves toward Kuwait...a-GAIN...and was poised to strike, until we replaced troops there. They were then given warning to back off or we would cross the border after them. This, after a long debaucle over where did the terrorists originate, run to, whatever. On top of all that, Saddam Hussein was using WMD's against the Kurds in the north of Iraq, in addition to other multiple atrocities he and his family were so fond of.
Next time, put your brain in gear before you take the brake off your mouth/finger(s).
Edited: Thanks for the catch, Toker, typo fixed.

I think what you meant to say is Obama is doing whats best for his interests. He's a glory hound thats why hes trying to set new records for the president being on tv. I never said nuke anyone and i don't recall anyone saying nuke them in a serious way. I do say it's time to kick the door down with NK but right now i would settle for Obama doing any damn thing. At least show some god damn intrest in whats going on. This is a 3rd world nation that has openly expressed the fact they are trying to develop nuclear weapons. Now they're launching multistage missiles. I think its going to take one landing at the white house for him to think damn maybe i should of skip that press conference and made a phone call about this.
As for Vietnam being a preemptive strike war. They are plenty of movies out there that are closer to the truth than that statement is.
And once again for those catching up on this thread and were not present for the others. You can put whatever spin on it you want to but we declare war to help other countries(allies). Very few times in our over 200 years as a unified nation have we declared war for ourselves. Yet we have been at war many times. Why because we are fuckin good at it. We built this nation by going to war take your pick Europe, Indians, whomever you want we kicked the shit out of everyone who had told us no. So now we are big bother and when another sibling calls we go and kick the shit out of which ever bully is picking on them.
Like it or not thats how it works. You can argue how we didn't win a couple but lets be honest politicians lose battles not our military. Would we have pulled out of Vietnam or take the win if politicians would of sat back and let our military do its job?

tho bell isn't here anymore i did pay plently of attention in school and you know what we always learned? We went into Vietnam to "stop the spread of communism though the south pacific" or basically a preemptive strike against Communism to stop it from spreading.
Iraq War being the 2nd, Since it always been taught the first was generally called Desert Storm. The 2nd War was to stop Saddam, no matter the bullshit put out, despite him being NO THREAT.
Lastly, Go ahead and start a fucking war with NK, lets just fuck everything up. Thank god McCain isn't in office otherwise we'd probably be in a depression, in war with about 40 countries and if we were lucky not nuked to death
