As you stated, civil makes a good point. Additionally, the essence of capitalism is the free market place of trade along with the free market of ideas. Why not show Cuba all the advantages of free trade and capitalism by exchanging goods and ideas. Capitalism thrives because it can withstand any opposition in the free market of ideas, not because of the forced embargo. Additionally trade can build a friendly relationship, neither cuba nor the US seek approval of how their governments are run - so why cant we all get over it and trade.

ECON 101 - Trade is beneficial to everyone, otherwise no one would participate.
