Re: Must See TV
Meh she is an average singer at best.
Had she been cute this would never be any story at all. the fact that she is ugly as sin and has a semi decent voice, actually average compared to other singers in my opinion, is what made this "news"
Don't get me wrong, she doesn't suck. She sings better than I do certainly. She just isn't any better than any other person who wants to sing pro. I think we have become too amazed by the horrendous singers that are convinced they are the next Carrie Underwood

I've been involved in music, band, choir, and theatre for close to a decade now, and she defininitely has an AMAZING voice!!
She would probably flop if she ever went on to record and try to make money the standard way...but if she was to join a stage troupe or something, she would be amazing.

Re: Must See TV
I was very moved by her performance. No, she isn't the next Taylor Swift, but she has a hell of a voice. Personally, I think the world has enough cookie cutter pop stars and I hope this woman gets her chance to shine. We need more people with real talent and not "artists" that feed the hunger of 16 year old kids with no real knowledge of musical ability and talent.
Here's a humorous story about a 19 year old girl I went to college with. She came over to my house to work on a humanities class project and asked me if my roommate at the time was gay. I was like, why do you ask that? Well, he has this poster above his desk that has a rainbow and triangle on it. It was a fucking Pink Floyd poster (you all know the one). She did not know who Pink Floyd was. Sad. Sad. Sad. She knew who Nickleback was though.
