sound like blue personalities (you all have to have taken the personality color test at least once)

anyways i disagree about bringing it up here, the internet is a quick useful way to find out information, and hell i've learned a shit load about people like his GF just from two pages. Besides its not like asking it a forum full of apes, we have a lot of science people, people studying all sorts of shit and probably provide good information.

Besides its not as easy as "get a therapist", you have all sorts of things like how to approach them, how to find a good therapist etc etc.

It is most likely, but I don't want to tell too much. I know more about that girl than most of her friends and family. I think if she wants to stop I can find ways that may help her. It's the best I can do in our current situation. I don't plan to move out of my house till after my 4 years of college. When I move out with her we're gone, period. I don't want her parents around her cause they obviously don't care about what SHE wants. And I know exactly what she wants, freedom.

high schools have therapists that they provide to their students in extreme situations.

I believe it is law but i may be wrong, nevertheless, your high school and DEFINITELY college should have therapists at no cost and their doors are open to ANY SITUATION. Even something as simple as peer counseling. in-fact they specialize in this stuff, they work at a public school they've seen hundreds of these cases, if she wants help she needs to go there.

I can throw web sites at you day and night about this and what you could do. You have to make the first step. You don't have to tell them anything other than what you need to know about helping your loved one. Maybe put yourself in her shoes and find why she is doing it.

Once again, I question the entire point of this thread when everyone who's offered any type of advice has been met with a lame response such as "I don't want to talk too much about her problem". Didn't you just tell a public forum about her problem, and now you're saying you don't want to talk to a professional about it? I call fucking bullshit. Admins, please lock this thread already.

    Re: Thoughts on cutters

Yurdeal the best advice I could probably give is this; Try and find the root of the problem, have a little sit down, and try to find her reasoning for her cutting. Be sensitive, loving, and caring, those are your three most essential tools in situations like this. After you've found out what the problem is, help her work through it, and cast some light on what shes been doing. Be a little firm if you need to, but don't be harsh. She may just need someone she loves to cater to her, and walk her out of the shadow, if that's the case, you should be able to help her, and you'll only be closer because of it.

If you simply can't figure out whats wrong, then try and convince her to seek help, and help her do just that. Call a hotline, go to trusted figures at your old High School and find her some help. The words "Get help" are so commonly said and feel cheap, and cliche, but they really are the ones that need to be said most.

I reiterate though, don't be harsh with her. Tenderness, sensitivity, and caring are musts for the situation, there may be a time for firmness, but use it practically, don't bully her through this.

Please stop being a pompous ass and acknowledge the fact that a community member needs help. Get your head out of your ass, quit borderline trolling the thread, and either try to help him or butt out.

    I think we found this:

    6. The Moderator

Taking a slightly subtler approach to making visitors feel unwelcome, the Moderator maintains an air of superiority as he bunkers down each day on a particular site's comment section or message board for another 16-hour stint as archivist-in-residence. He's the cool kid--the site vet who's been around for a long time and knows what's what. Leave a message that repeats something someone else said 16 months ago, and he'll let you know about it within minutes.

Treating the forum as his own private gated community, the (self-appointed) Moderator seems to have adopted as his personal philosophy the Pythonesque commandment "Every thread is precious." To keep each discussion safe and pure, he will treat any commenter who has fewer than 200 messages to his name as an undocumented invader who doesn't deserve a spot on his beloved forum. All of this, we assume, from the comfort of his parents' basement

    Re: Thoughts on cutters

I've got news for you, fellas. TTP is not the end all of advice and assistance. Some things are, believe it or not, beyond the scope of this community's knowledge. By saying that any jackass with half a brain and an asshole to talk out of is a viable source of information regarding this issue, you're downplaying his girlfriend's situation tremendously. It's easy to spout your opinions and advice when you don't have to take any responsibility for any potential aftermath, so get off your fucking high horses, quit trying to label me the bad guy, and take a step back and actually think about what you're fucking saying here.
