Trigger,
I watch Colbert and Stewart nightly (they are the only TV news sources I trust!); personally I find Colbert to be quite left, except in the fiscal areas. I think he might lean towards libertarian...it is hard to tell because his comedy persona pretends to be a hardline right winger. A lot of his discussion when it comes to the discussion of the market and business leans right, but for the most part he is right on cue with my position...and I think most of you know where I stand on the right/left spectrum.

maybe he is ambidextrous 
I do not think any of the jokes were in bad taste personally. Though I am glad the white house has lightened up I'd prefer to see some more of this "change" and "hope" he promised during his campaign. So far I've seen nothing but dire news that is killing that hope and the change we are seeing is only the bottom of our pockets is filled with change rather than paper.
