Not The Father? You Still Owe Child Support...
http://www.wsbtv.com/news/19452002/detail.html?boo I had heard about several cases like this in Texas and now I see it is happening in other states also... Can you believe this!? In Texas if you are married to a woman at the time she gives birth- apparently you are the father (by law anyway). Wow. Okay, I am dying to hear what you guys think...

When I lived in Seattle there was a case they covered on the radio where the woman had 2 guys paying child support, all legal. One guy was the biological father and the other guy had lived with the woman for 15 years since the child was born. The non-bio was considered an 'acting father figure' and was rather well off, so the court sided in favor of the woman getting both alimony and child support...
Watch where you stick your dingus fellas.

Re: Not The Father? You Still Owe Child Support...
About a week ago, there was a bang on MY door. My dogs went nuts and I proceeded to calm them down. I approached the door. The door is hard to get open as it rubs at the top and bottom. Anyhow, while struggling with the door, I caught a glimps of who was outside. One constable in front of my door and 15 more constables on my front lawn, some with shotguns and others with their hands on their holsters.
The constable at my door asked if "Stephan Bolton" live here. I said no but I've been gettin his junk mail. He asked how long I've lived there and I told him and that was pretty much it, he left. Later on I googled him and found that he owes 158k in child support. While searching through the list of names, I found one guy owes 700k in child support..WTF, how is it possible to rack up that much in child support?
Crazy..

In Kansas it is the same, except (and I bet Texas is the same way) it is assumed you are the father if you are married at conception. However it is easy to prove otherwise and DNA certainly does that.
I know 1st hand, my wife was pregnant at the time our divorce became offical. She had not lived with me for 5 months and was 3 months prego.
We both signed a piece of paper acknowledging I was not the father. Our lawyers said had she claimed otherwise a simple DNA would get me out of it, but until that was done and gone thru the courts I would be responsible for child support. However her ass would have had to pay it back when all was said and done.
Even with DNA results in hand you have to wait till a judge agrees.

Until then I would be unemployed and fishing with the winos.
