Who saw the show last night on history channel?
I saw it and was not as impressed as I thought I would be. For example, the fact that it was bought from a dealer and preserved in that carbon plexi-resin thing a majig in my mind cast a lot of doubt into the validity of the find. Not to mention the crushed nature of it. What was destroyed in the process? What additional material or left over residue was there that was not originally there? Did a trained archeologist/paleontologist dig it up? No, I don't think so. Plus, they highlighted the supposed weight baring bone in the foot. They did so quickly and said that it looked similar to ours. From the second that I looked at it, it did not look much like the bone at all. Maybe it served a similar function, but it was a far cry of a exact copy. Not to mention that I think they put a lot of words in Darwin's mouth when it came to evolution. Thats just what I recall that I didn't like.
