    Anyone on scenic model building?

Have issues filling the space between my profile board and the foam used to support the track. Everyone say, including the instruction, to mushroom up news paper and build layers to fill it up but the trouble is the news paper puts up to much resistance, pushed on the profile wall and bows it out. Any ideas on alternative fillers or methods?

Isn't there spray can insulation foam at ACE hardware? I don't know if it is compatible with the foam for the track support, but this could definitely be used as filler.

it is called great stuff and will work if you you can secure the model sides long enough that it will not push them out just while you fill

you will also then have to trim as it will expand outside of the bottom as well.

If you go that route, make sure you get one of the light expanding ones. There are 2 or 3 different versions and some of them, well...they really do expand.

Youll want the hot wire to cut the Stuff Doom.
You can probably find some Model Train specific forums out there that could give you better info and maybe explain how to make the newpaper work.

A heated wire cutter is easy to make if you look around on the net.

What I would do is fill the bottom up to level it off with the expanding foam, then use polystyrene sheets to sculpt hills from.
