Some Pew Poll Results showing Independents on the rise to the level seen when Ross Perot was running for office.

Is this a sign that folks are fed up with the two parties?

Yup I am fed up with the bullshit from both sides. With them its either the extreme left or extreme right with no middle ground.

I vote for common sense. Which is why I haven't voted even once since I turned 18 in 2003 :P

I wouldn't trust these polls too much. Often people will claim to be independent when they actually vote along one of the two party lines. That and the fact most polling companies will find a way to skew the results to fit the results they desire. However if it does turn out to be true it would be great as its better to vote for what you support rather than identify yourself with a large group and vote for what they believe whether you do or not.

don't worry though i'm sure the two parties will find more bullshit ways to keep anyone that isn't a R or a D from even having a chance to win (like the debates rules, amount of signatures required by different states to get on the ballot (the ones the repubs and dems don't have to do) etc.)
