Why is America so fat?

I'm just curious about other people's take on the subject. When I was in my 20's which was in the 1990's, it didn't seem like there were a lot of fat people. Now every time I go to the U.S. I can't help but notice the vast majority are fat. What gives?

Depression.

People eat to escape the circumstances of their lives, in this case shitty shitty lives. Couple that with the quality of the food, ie: mcpukes, fast food; junk food; easy to make/eat foods etc...

I believe some kinds of feel-good pills can also cause weight gain, which is slightly ironic since people tend to feel better about themselves when they aren't overweight.

You have to pacify the human race with TV and a abundance of fast food. Its worked so far with the USA, you keep people obsessed with entertainment and food then they will pay their taxes and behave without thinking outside the box.

You look at some of these countries that are fucked up and its because what? Idle hands people.
