Ah, I think I just figured it out.

All nations start out in "The Pacific" Region so under their "Regional Happenings" you can get the names of new nations.

In the description:

Ad Spam: 8 lines or less, no ascii, no caps

I suppose we could create a generic telegram and start sending it to new nations. Maybe personalize it with the nations name to stand out from some of the others. Quality over quantity may be the key.

I like that approach. Just find someone to keep track of all the new nations and send the telegrams (I'll volunteer if no one else will, although I suck as advertising).

I quickly whipped up a telegram. It's eight lines with room to add some more features in the third paragraph.

It strikes me as a bit light, but I've noticed that people never tend to read the longer telegrams. So, perhaps light is the way to go.

you need something to catch their attention in the opening line & title or they'll ignore the telegram. Each new country is flooded with new messages.

They don't let you put in a title but how about something like this:

Have you ever wanted to leave your mark on history? Have you ever wanted to lead a nation to prosperity and glory? Have you ever wanted to experience the fun and challenges of international diplomacy? Have you ever wanted to build a military from the ground up and attempt to dominate the world? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to join other nations in a space race?

So are we reactivating the LM region for the space part (or just using the older nations of that region for occasional UFO incidents in the DT region?

Alas, I've not begun yet. From lurking I've noticed advertisers tend to get their spleens torn from their stomachs in most RP forums. The main NS forums are a good alternative... although it's good to build up a little post count first before talking about the region.

Telegram-wise we should also try contacting some established nations as well as just new ones. That way we won't be lost in a sea of similar ads from other regions.
