    Should Sanford resign? Should Sanford resign?

    Should Sanford resign?

    As some of you might know, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford recently confessed to having an affair with a 'longtime friend' from Argentina. This is the same man to voted in favor of impeaching Bill Clinton while saying "And I voted to impeach, because I think that, you know, moral legitimacy is one of the precursors to a legitimate legitimacy." It also turns out that he took a state funded trip to Argentina last June claiming that it was a 'state-funded trade mission' (I wonder what he traded). Just throwing this out there to get some opinions.

    I just watched Olbermann rip into this guy a couple of hours ago...he's like a quintessential hypocrite. He says he runs with family values, and then goes out an has an affair. He voted to impeach Clinton for doing basically the exact same thing, but doesn't resign. How in the WORLD did he get elected, by lying through his teeth? Hell yes the man should resign, not a word that comes from his mouth will ever have an ounce of legitimacy to me again.

    My opinion is that he should resign for using state resources to further a sexual relationship. The fact that he cheated on his wife, for me, has nothing to do with it. That's between him and his wife.

    I sued to think not much of him until there was some controversy around the stimulus money. Now he goes to Argentina to fuck some chick when the guys in Columbia give him a hard time? Get him out I say.

    Most of the push to have Clinton removed had to do with him lying under oath about the affair, not the affair itself. A little thing called perjury.

    If Sanford used state resources for personal reasons (whatever they are) then he should bail...his political career is all but over anyway.

    This is true but the reasons why those who voted in favor of impeachment were all based on morality.

    I know what it was about. Apparently didn't read the from Trigs post since in their he was a quote from Sanford that i was referring to.

    most != all

    Sanford's quote makes him a hypocrite, Sanford's actions make him an adulterer and a liar, and his mis-use of office make him a failed politician - the total of which should make him an ex-governor.
