U.S Soccer!! Fail train........ Sad

I believe it's going to be on the radio, so I guess the best you can do is mute your tv on the spanish channel, and turn up the radio.

Still sad though. I mean who are the execs at the tv station who thought it would be a better idea to have the WNBA on instead of the US's biggest soccer match to date? Idiots I say.

soccer fans here in Germany are really fanatical.
Weather permitting, everyone gets extension cords and watches the game outside with a beer and they all cheer together.
Every time the German team scores a goal, the whole country lights up with fireworks from at least half the households
When they win, they all go out into the streets and sing their national anthem
It is very impressive.
I wish every sports fan could see it at least once.

Is racism bad in German soccer? Have you ever witnessed any? I know its everywhere for the most part in Europe, but I thought I read it was the worst in Germany.

my brother read that telemundo was trying to sell the rights to the broadcast to espn in the us at a rediculous markup that espn wasn't willing to pay

I have never witnessed any. One of my best friends here is a black American married to a German girl. I also work with a Puerto Rican who is married to a German girl. There are several WASPs that I work with who are married to Germans. In my neighborhood, there are Germans, Greeks, Turks, Spaniards, and one American family, mine. My town has 4 churches, one synagogue, and one mosque. Everyone gets along fine.

But I thought we were talking about soccer?

it deals with soccer. I've heard as well there is a lot of racism in european countries at least when it comes to fans at the matches etc.

like the one guy that made news because fans were throwing bananas at him.

Yea, I have seen highlight reels of German games, with Neo-Nazis in the crowd doing the Nazi salute at players.
