08-06-09, 12:17 AM #1You get heat exhaustion
Been cutting down some dead oak trees and limbs that died from this ghastly drought we have been having at my Grandmothers the last two days and the heat is horrid.
Drank LOTS of water, hosed myself down every few hours, took some half hour breaks in the shade in the wind.
Got done with the first day yesterday and was sore and tired, went to bed about 11 and woke up at 4:30 because I was shivering like the dickens, and I couldn't stop for over an hour and a half, and couldn't get to sleep. Was so bad I couldn't even get out of bed when the alarm went off I was shaking so bad.
Thankfully it stopped and I was able to get on with my day, didn't feel down all day and was able to get another two trees down today finishing the job and then just got all the brush to the street side for the brush pickup guys and cut up my free oak firewood.
Hoping it doesn't happen again tonight...going back tomorrow to mulch the ground around the trees to help keep any more from dieing.

Make sure you don't drink to much water, that may also be the cause of you getting sick. Back when I went to basic some guy downed 15 or so canteens of water in a day and it washes all the nutrients out of your system or something like that, on top of lots of strenuous activities. He also didn't return to our flight after getting sick.

Basically, if you are sweating out a lot of liquid, you need to replace it, but be realistic, 15 canteens of water is a hell of a lot (if they are 2qt).
If your urine is nice and clear, you are likely fairly well hydrated...roll with it.
