This is why i'll never trust Rock to talk about the Pac-10, when you come out saying teams like Stanford are middle of the road Pac-10 teams. Middle of the road Pac-10 teams have been in the past years: Oregon, Cal, Arizona (Last year), UCLA IIRC.

Look, I'm not denying USC's talent level, they are legit. I'm just tired of them complaining about missing out on the title every year....stop losing to teams like Oregon State and Stanford. Are those teams good? They are ok, but not comparable to USC, more than Half the SEC or the Big 12.

I'm sorry, everyone thinks the Pac-10 is as good or better than the Big12 and SEC and it simply isnt true. Top it all off, USC goes out and schedules Ohio State as a non conference and acts like they are some shit when they beat them....Big10 teams are in the same boat as the PAC 10...overrated.

What happens when USC plays a bowl game NOT against a Big10 team? They lose to Texas, that's what. Only other time they were even in a BCS title game was vs Oklahoma, who cant win bowl games to save their life.

Every year, two BCS bowls I never watch, are the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl. USC is gonna cream anyone and everyone from the pac10 by 3 Td's at least. Sugar bowl last year had big east vs acc.....just as well watch 1-AA football.

SEC has gone to 5 of the 11 total BCS Title games, and won all 5, including the last 3 (soon to be 4). FYI, Oklahoma has been to 4 and only won one...get the hint Stoops?

If Oregon hadnt lost Dixon late in the year a few years back, they would have most likely played for the title. But Oregon has fallen slightly since.

You're never going to convince me that Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State or Stanford, are just as good or better than most teams in the SEC, Big12, or even the Big10. Because they arent. They may seem so when they play against their own conference, but they arent. Just ask Ole Miss from last year.

way to entirely miss my point, i was noting that to say Stanford or Oregon State are middle of the road Pac-10 School is absurd, they are bottom barrel along with Washington and Washington State (right now).

Besides if the SEC or Big 12 had 10 schools with only one real recruiting area (California) they would suck too. Most of the Pac-10 schools get screwed because USC takes most of the talented kids in California and if somehow a talented kid comes out of one of the other west coast states, while the other 9 are left to fight for the scraps.

Actually he's not that far off. Stanford just pulled in a top ten recruiting class and had a better record than UCLA last year. They are as close to middle of the PAC-10 as you can get.

    USC 8-1
    Oregon 7-2
    Oregon State 7-2
    California 6-3
    Arizona 5-4
    Arizona State 4-5
    Stanford 4-5
    UCLA 3-6
    Washington State 1-8
    Washington 0-9

    Re: Coaches poll is out

i tend to not look at one year, i could argue UofA is middle of the road based on last year but the long term shows Arizona is more a bottom team in the Pac-10 (at least recently) then a middle of the road team.

In general UCLA has usually been near the top/middle of the pack, As with Oregon, Cal, and ASU (Though i hate the crap out of them and still contend they are shit). Outside of last year Stanford is usually crap, Oregon State is in and out, Wazzu and UDub have both been crap for awhile.

True, but recruiting = wins. They have a marquee coach in Harbaugh, they are getting quality recruiting classes, so they are likely only going up, not down. In the end its still USC and everyone fighting for second in the PAC-10, someone really needs to string a few quality recruiting classes together to mount any challenge to the Trojans.

unlikely, like i stated earlier most of the Pac-10 teams are at a disadvantage as USC takes the best of California and should any big name talent come up in another West coast city them too, and most of the other schools have to fight for scraps that wern't good enough for USC.

Plus when i've looked at recruiting classes it seems most of the schools recruit heavily local with some California players mixed in. Granted again a team like Cal or Oregon may bring in more out-of-state talent, haven't look as much at their recruiting etc.
