The UFL's approach, rules and style of play will look and feel substantially similar to the NFL and will cater to those markets currently undeserved by professional football. The UFL will assemble the best talent on the field, on the sidelines and in the league and team offices to ensure a credible, high-quality product that is accessible and affordable for fans.

So basically it's nothing new... I don't see the need. I expect this to fail after 1 season if not sooner. Unless they find some players like none we have seen before I see this being a flop; but then again maybe we will find some gameplay where someone isn't complaining about a crick in their wrist or a broken toe thus being unable to play for half a season.

depends on how much they are spending on salaries etc.

It might work, be all the NFL rejects but it might work. Though if they could get a partnership with the NFL where teams could send their players to the UFL it be even better. Could see some good rookies playing UFL to get experience.

Still if salaries are low enough they could make it, i'm sure they'll draw more people then MLS does and that things still going.

My understanding is they have no intention of competing with the NFL, but being a Farm league for them. With only 4 teams it doesn't look like they are going to have the problem of over expansion.

I just wonder where there think they will get revenue. Unless the NFL subsidizes it, I don't see how they can stay open.

This will be interesting for the CFL to see if guys will jump ship to play down south. The CFL has a 4.2 million cap, what is the UFL's going to be? The league seems to be starting small, seems like a very smart idea.

Back in the day I went to Orlando Renegades games, Orlando Thunder games, They were both pretty joke-ish.

This has been tried before, with embarassing results.

Won't work. NFL teams are struggling to make ends meet during this mediocre economic time. No way they will have enough money to keep this going.

why not? They already are playing the salaries for their players to sit on the bench. Go send them to the UFL to get some experience in-game. Plus if they get on outside of the area they can use it to promote the team in that market and try to sell more jerseys, hats, etc.

I see your point. I didnt read much into it. Would this league be kinda like AA and AAA for baseball, where the major league team paid them to play there? If so, that cuts costs drastically. I was mainly focusing on people in the smaller markets actually being able to buy tickets.

I live in New Orleans. People are already buying Hornets and Saint's tickets. I wouldnt be so sure they'd have the extra disposable income to buy tickets for a third team.
