looking to read some books on ideologies likely here soon because it just interests me. Going to check out Wayne Allen Root's book but also looking for some more suggestions.
I know i should read the Communist Manifesto as well. Any others that deal with ideologies in politics, maybe promote different ideas on some subjects? Be interested in checking them out. Do note i'm not going to read books by idiots like Glenn Beck, O'Reilly, Maddow, etc etc. But out of those i'm willing to give it a chance.
Doesn't have to be non-fiction by the way either (Actually still need to read 1984).

Re: Book Suggestions
For what it's worth, I recommend against reading too many ideology or philosophy texts on your own. One is probably enough just to see what the issues are.
The people that write those books do a good job of selling their ideas. Without critical thinking or a mentor/professor to bounce ideas off it is possible to get sold on shit as bad as Hitler's Mein Kampf. :5
The main issue with all of those books is that they are written by philosophers that rarely, if ever, got their hands dirty. All their ideas sound good in a vacuum, but the world doesn't live in a vacuum. The world is full of people that are primarily the same but disagree, sometimes vehemently, over details that are important to them.
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People is the best book that I have run across that provides both a discussion at an ideological level and common-sense instructions on how to navigate through life while maintaining your own true north setting.
/end another sales pitch for Seven Habits
