wow, this thing got off topic fast :3

    Back to the speech:
I was never worried about the speech anyways.
I do not know about the rest of the parents out there, but I am teaching my kids to have a healthy B.S. detector, especially when a politician is speaking-regardless of which side of the isle he is on.

Oh, and I had two other things going for me that most parents do not have. First, I totally got to preview it because I live half a world away and it was just re-broadcast at my kids' schools. Second, I have heard him speak to kids before. When he came here in June (he made a European trip and went to the D-Day memorial) he addressed my son's elementary school graduation by speaker phone and gave basically the same speech. So I kind of knew what to expect.
    Sleep, eat, conquer, meditate, repeat.

So did your son begin espousing the benefits of communism, or did your son try influencing your vote come 2012? Did he come back as an indoctrinated Nazi youth type? Must not have heard the same speech that these other guys have been so fearful of...........

My own personal opinion is not a fear of this speech, this motion, this idea, this bill, this whatever, other than for the precedence it sets. Sure, this speech is totally harmless, and probably somewhat helpful. But as I said before he was voted in it COULD BE the first step of many. So next month when he says look how well that one worked, let me do it again, everyone says ok, sure. Then a few speeches down the road he starts quoting Hitler, Stalin, and Marx, but nobody notices because it worked so well the first few times, so this time will be just as good or better, right?

Yes, I threw in some wild exaggerations, but someone has to keep it fun in here, and not so serial.

What? You mean that the original intent of checks and balances might not work if two branches of the government are in bed with each other?

Im not a fan of Ms.Malkin...I believe she is an extremist..WAY to far right.
And tends to inflame the conversation....

However occasionally she does hit a good point..

BHO's speech....I like how he says that he will work with everyone in one breath and then says he will punish those who dont accept his ideas...
He has broken a couple of laws already while in the white house and no one covers it...it just baffles me.
I like how he says he is going to "look forward and not into the past" and then allows the Attorney General investigate to prosecute interrogators of terroist..and also blames Bush for everything that is wrong....even in his speech last night he did that....and he came to congress to try to build support...
    Im baffled...
If you dont know what is happening to your freedoms..you had better take a closer look because they are disappearing...
PONDER THIS....How can the US Government MAKE you buy anything...?
Hold on Kiddies...its about to happen with this health care!....and if you dont buy it...you will get a 4 digit dollar FINE!!! Thats 2 to 3 thousand dollars....He even mentioned it in his speech...

What's the reason for the fine? I dont have health insurance, because I never use it. So now I will have to pay a fine for not having it? Seems a little odd to me. Either get our healthcare or we'll fine you anyway. Meh. :3

I accepted that as a fact a long time ago,but now I'm wondering if he's on the payroll or some familial relationship
