Umm... acutally you are wrong and I have beat a ticket from these cameras because it was my wife driving and not me. Sucks for you tho...

Depends on STATE law.

Reminds me of a story I heard that was probably a joke, but an attorney was caught speeding by a camera, and was mailed the ticket along with the photo. So he decides to mail the court a photo of his check to return the favor. After receiving a photo back from the police department of a set of handcuffs he decided to pay the ticket.

In Texas they have now changed some of our toll roads/highways so that that there are no booths. As you drive by a camera takes a picture of your plate, and they send you a bill in the mail.

I drive 130 or 45 couple times a week... The best was for the first couple months it was free... I got spoiled takin the bike out there.. SUUUUCH a fun road to speed on

Yep....Once again,Civil is right on the money.

Minnesota had installed some "red light" cameras....the ones that take a pic if you run a red light. They were pretty successful for the first couple of years,but they were handing out tickets to people who either didn't run a red,but their plate was the only one visible in the pic,and to people who were moving out of the way for emergency vehicles. A class action suit was started,and ended up in the State Supreme Court. The court decided that the cameras were against the State Constitution,and the State ended up PAYING BACK EVERY SINGLE TICKET,AND WIPING THEM OFF EVERYONES DRIVING RECORD.

We have some red-light cameras where I live and I like the idea.
There might be some bugs to work out but running red lights gets people killed and I don't feel that I have to right to privacy while driving on public roads.

When they work properly I'm all for red light cameras too, but highway photo enforcement is a different story....
