Plus, if you have a lot of stuff, that's what pre-nups are for.
Wrong, Texas divvies it up as well.

    Re: Mormons

Texas is a no fault state, so she'd get what she brought in and half of the house or any other property during the marriage, plus she'd be liable for half the debt, no matter who incurred it. If she made less than he, she wouldn't get half the family earnings, just what she made. It's below standard for the rest of the country, and it wouldn't take Red's "stuff"..there's very little chance for alimony, or any kind of support other than for kids.

So say...(and Red, I am in no way talking about you) you know you're going to divorce your wife, and you decide to start spending a few grand a month on a stripper, buying her jewelry and such on your credit cards..your lovely wife will be responsible for half of that, and not get a red cent because you were a lying cheating bastard..*pant pant*

sorry, i get a little pissed off thinking about it..got some family history in Texas...

I hear when people play FPS games online they focus intently on their monitors and lose track of their surroundings.

    ROFL....I don't know who'd be more upset..Sybil or me

He has weird radar; ignores fires, me falling down stairs, calls for dinner..but he'd notice me walking in with a giant swim noodle. I need to turn his seat around so his back is to the door. That reminds me, I need to break out the little plastic gun that shoots arrows.....hopefully before he reads this thread

    Re: Mormons

i don't care how the law is written here in TEXAS it has been my experience that divorce goes down like this,.

Judge: "Oh you are a worth less piece of shit ( either gender) you get it all"

judge: "oh you were responsible and made things possible for your spouse and always did the right thing? SUCKER!"

it always seems that whether it is the woman or the man who is the fuck up they walk away much better off then the the partner who did right.

    Re: Mormons

I agree with you, especially because it's usually the person who fucks up who knows it's coming, so files first..the other person is blindsided.

If you know you're getting a divorce before the other person you can do all sorts of shady stuff..hide stuff in friend's garages, run up the credit card bills, hide mounds of cash in an oven...
