Re: Astroturf Grows
The Republicans are no more a "monolithic block of thought" than the democrats are, you boob.
How many of your friends are republicans? How many republicans have you sat down and interviewed?
Where do you get your news? You are reading out of Hawgballs play book and it is no more effective when you spit it.

You could also go back a page and read my whole rant on my feelings on both sides and how they have been acting lately and in the past.

Conservatives for Patients' Rights is a group founded by Rick Scott. He is a former board member of Columbia HCA, one of the largest health care providers in the US. He was also behind one of the biggest frauds on Medicare and Medicaid, and the company had to pay $1.7 billion dollars.

"The health-insurance industry is sending thousands of its employees to town-hall meetings and other forums during Congress's August recess to try to counter a tide of criticism directed at the insurers and remain a player -- and not an outsider -- in the debate over the future of the health-care system."

"Last week, UnitedHealth Group--the second largest health insurance company in the country--sent out a letter to its employees urging them to call UHG's United for Health Reform Advocacy Hotline to speak with an advocacy specialist about health care reform. The advocacy specialist, according to the letter, is there to help UHG employees write personalized messages to elected officials, and to arm them with talking points to use at local events in order to better oppose the public health insurance option."

We see the same crap being pulled by Big Oil against climate change legislation. And we saw the same nonsense in 1993 with the Coalition for Health Insurance Choices, which was a group against the Clinton plan. They were funded by the National Federation of Independent Businesses and Health Insurance Association of America. Both are insurance industry groups.

The saddest part is people buy into this crap and will actually vote against their best interests because the corporations told them to.
