Star Wars question
Last night Return of the Jedi was on the ol plasma courtesy dish network. The part is where they are transported to the dunes with Jaba to be fed to the monster that will digest them for 1,000 years. Now the thing is when i saw the pit there was like a added computer generated monster tounge. I saw like holy shit wtf is that in the original that was not even there. My bro in law calls up and i mention this to him and he said that has always been like that. Does anyone know about this?
I have the original VCR tape in the closet but no VCR so i cant go back and watch that one part.

RE: Star Wars question
I'm pretty sure that uhhh, most all earlier editions were remade with CG and stuff later on.. at least that's what I think I heard.
I don't think it's always been like that, but I'm not sure.. I could maybe pop my old video in my VCR player but I'd have to hook it up, and I'm too lazy.
But yeah, I don't think it's always been CGitized.

RE: Star Wars question
I am not sure at what point you are talking about. There is the part where Luke falls on the side and this tongue like thing comes up and grabs him. Then Hans, who is still partially blind has to blast it off of him. Other then that, I don't remember any tongue.

I think that they cleaned up the CG a bit for the release of the trilogy on DVD.
Here's the original Sarlacc:
And here's the "improved" Sarlacc with a little beak
Some critics talk about the sexual imagery of the Sarlacc and you go all Freudian on it.
