I would just like to know what you folks think America should be like, how you would truly like life here to be. Please be serious put some thought into it, preferably plausible 8)
I'm really interested in everyone's view because I want to see how much we have in common as a community and as individuals :9

Anyways what would i want?

Well personally it would great if we had a good universal healthcare, free schooling, good welfare and unemployment plans. People would be willing to actually share what they have with those who do not. Companies that actually care more about their workers.

Companies not able to donate money to politicians or candidates. People in office that actually give a crap about the people that voted them in. People in the country actually pay attention to politics and make up their own mind. Not just pay attention because da TVz is telling me x is evilz!!!!

A foreign affairs policy not based on nuking anyone we don't like. Not to go around policing the world. Love for power etc. to be generated from Nuclear Power, Wind, Solar, Water, etc.

There more stuff, but i need to think about some others and write them down.

Really, I think the only thing that irritates me about America is the general plague of stupidity that seems to affect our average citizen - things like when Jay Leno goes walking around on the street and finds people who don't know what building is at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, or what bill Ulysses S. Grant is on.

So, better public education? I guess that's kinda what I'm after.

Universal Healthcare, free college educations (Europe does it), older driving age. If you're old enough to enlist you should be able to drink legally. Oh, and some non-cancerous pop culture and better public schooling.

Interesting topic.

I would want universal health care, of course. Preferably a single-payer system like Canada and France or a nationalized health care system like the UK. Free education up through college, although I wouldn't oppose a small tuition charge, up to like $500 or so a semester. Need massive spending on our decrepit infrastructure. Better public transportation. Strict environmental standards. I would pay for most of this by slashing the Defense budget in half.

Equal rights for everyone, which means legalizing gay marriage, and legalization and heavy taxation of marijuana. Change our prison and justice system from a retributive system to a rehabilitative one.

As for the government, I support proportional representation. It allows more parties to be represented and allows people to vote for the party platform they want, and not just one person who may be more liberal or conservative than the national party. The Senate needs major reform because it is just ridiculous how it is now. No way should a state like Wyoming or North Dakota have the same, exact representation in the Senate as New York, California, or Texas.

Some good ideas there, Fove. Don't agree with slashing the defense budget (guns are fun!), but definitely would like to see better public transportation... especially for suburbia.

I'd honestly rather take public transit to and from work than have to put more miles and wear and tear on my car... but it's not an option where I live.
