    Clif Bar

    http://www.clifbar.com/
Nutrition facts here & on wrapper may differ. Info on wrapper reflects actual contents.

Ingredients: Soy Protein Isolate, Beet Juice Concentrate, Organic Brown Rice Syrup, Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Palm Kernel Oil, Dry Roasted Peanuts, Organic Rolled Oats, Organic Soy Protein Concentrate, Cocoa, Vegetable Glycerin, Natural Flavors, Peanut Flour, Rice Starch, Inulin (Chicory Extract), Cocoa Butter, Salt, Organic Milled Flaxseed, Organic Oat Fiber, Soy Lecithin, Organic Sunflower Oil.
The main line of Clif Bars is targeted at men, with a second line, Luna Bars, serving a female audience. Clif Bars themselves have a low-key packaging color, stressing earth tones and is made of foil rather than plastic. Three bars manufactured by Clif (CLIF, LUNA and MOJO) use 70% organic ingredients. Clif Bars are also vegan. Each flavor has a particular accent color - carrot cake, for instance, is orange, while oatmeal raisin walnut is green, and chocolate brownie is brown.
These bars are the bomb and are a great snack for the morning/midday.

I would have to say my favorite is the builders bar Peanut Butter.

A lot of these bars are getting more and more tasty.

I often pick up a box when I travel for healthy snacks so I dont have to hit the vending machines. I always look for the least sugar and the most protein per bar. I think I may have had a clif before, but as I recall, they have more sugar than some of the others, like Balance or SouthBeach.

Clif bars are really good. I usually pack one for long trips and/or before I run for some much needed energy. A bit pricey, but so worth it.

    20grams of sugar per bar.

    Not that bad.

The number of grams in one serving does not matter. The thing that matters is how many total grams per 24hr period are you eating after adding all the servings? Sugar is store as glycogen in the liver and body cells. Liver glycogen serves as the bodies supplier of glucose after the body cell storage is depleted. So the liver holds 100-120 grams of glucose total. Some proteins are glucogenic, meaning that they are converted into glucose for use, albeit a small ammount. But how much does your muscles hold? I will estimate that your 300grams total. For those of you in aerobics or running, you will feel better after a workout if you refill your muscle sugar stores, which makes you much less sluggish; but, this replacement is only for hard working atheletes, not for people looking for an excuse to put down that supersize shake after a walk to the counter. Oh, by the way, when burning calories (kcal). 1 gram glucose = 4.3 kcal.
