    There it is.

All this talk about giving them their due process and all that other non-sense needs to stop. They are not entitled to our constitutional rights.

I'm quite sick of hearing about their rights being violated....because under our constitution, they have none.
Valid point that many over look. I say give them to France. Maybe they'll do a better job than we did in their eyes.

Not entitled to our Constitutional Rights? :3

All men are created equal. That doesn't mean all men in the U.S. are created equal and everyone else can fuck off, that means ALL men are created equal. Which means, yes, they have the same rights we do. The basic unalienable rights, ya know? The one's our forefathers wanted every man in the world to have, ya know? The "reason" America goes off and promotes Democracy across the globe, ya know? I'm pretty sure one of those said something about fair trials and blah blah blah. Damn dude, you guys are right though. They must not deserve a fair trial because they're less than us, right? They don't deserve to stand on our soil and be put in front of a judge so they can answer for their crimes (if any), right? I mean, fuck all those innocent guys sitting in that prison (you can't tell me all of them are guilty). I mean, I know they must want to get back to their families and all, but fuck em. Someone of the same color and same religion attacked our country so now NONE of them are allowed their basic human rights. AMIRITE OR AMIRITE?!?!?!

    Have a good day

I see you think you know but here read this.

We, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquillity, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

I see no where in that does it say outside or boards does this apply. In fact it says to ourselves in it. They are held under military law not civilian. In it's self means they are not under a democracy. It is a dictatorship plain and simple. They have no rights garranteed to them under our constitution.

I think i remember you saying your joining the military. If so you may want to look a little more into it before you decide because your wants/votes/and ideas arent not worth shit until they are asked for. If they decide you will be sent to your room only to come out for work and chow time and you cant do or say shit. Welcome to how it works in the real world.
so we spread liberty and democracy all over the world but not basic human rights to stand trial?

    :3
Not too mention he only quoted the part where we were basically telling England to go fuck itself, nothing about basic human rights

And I understand what the military holds for me, I'm joining to protect our/your rights. The basic human ones. Ya know?

Feel better. Understand that the document in it's entirety applies to us alone that is why it states The United States of America in the title twice. No different than if you go to another country you are subject to their laws. Ours do not apply outside our borders. Military have it coming and going you have to obey they rules and regs of the military and the laws of whatever country they are in when off base.

They will stand trial but they are on military time not civilian. The civilian rules even if they were citizens of the US would not apply.

    Re: Congress passes Gitmo bill

I enjoy reading the political threads on these forums for 2 reasons:

    1. I like to see other people's opinions, even if I don't agree 100% it's nice to know what people think and where they come from.

    2. In order to practice up on various ways of ignoring questions entirely and in turn belittling anyone with opposite points of view.

Why can't people just say what they believe instead of attacking other people?
    I miss you guys....-tczyl2-png

We have some amazing debaters at TTP, and in truth I love it. But sometimes you just have to read in-between the lines and try to differentiate between what is really meant as a personal attack on someone and what is just witty humor disguised as an attack on someone(think Hawgballs :P). First lesson you learn in debate, don't take anything said in the debate personaly. I will admit though, some people do take things too far and the debate turns into an argument. At that point the thread is usually locked :P

If everyone just flat out said what they believe instead of defending their beliefs against others then there would be no debate to begin with. And that's just no fun at all

Five of these Uyghurs, who had filed for writs of habeas corpus, were transported to Albania on May 5, 2006 just prior to a scheduled judicial review of their petitions. As of June 22, 2008, seventeen Uyghur men remain incarcerated at Guantanamo. Two years ago, an Administrative Review Board declared all but one to be "approved for release." The Pentagon had previously determined, reportedly as early as 2003, that the Uyghurs should be released, and is currently trying to find countries willing to accept them
    Oh, they haven't been forgotten.

So we paid a lot of money? Is that what you are getting at? We imprisoned them for 8 years, and did science knows what to them...... I think a huge chunk of change was in order.

Clinton was President in 93 ...or weren't you even born when Islamic terrorist tried to blow up the World Trade Center ....THE FIRST TIME ?
Yeah, didn't he "cowardly" launch a few missiles into Afghanistan in response. All the while, the righteous right was busy pointing at his cock, and blaming him for trying to "wag the dog"?

Go google when he lauched that missile and get back to me.
The point was that treating international terrorists as local criminals is an approach that has been tried and failed miserably.
The attacks only got worse after 93, culminating in the horror of September 11, 2001.
Perhaps if the President wasn't busy molesting interns he would have paid more attention to the job.

How would you deal with terrorists captured on the battlefield ?

Its amazing we have the right to hold them in custody under our name but yet give them no rights. Do you think 100% of the inmates are guilty? Do you think maybe at least %10 were swept up in a raid or taken by mistake?

If you state the system has no flaws and each one of them are 100% guilty then you are full of hay. I

I say give them a fair trial and let justice handle the matter.

The courts decide their faith and not players from some online gaming forums.

    OH THE HORRORS! :10
Problem with this is they were detained under military rule. That puts them under military systems not civilian. They should be tried were they are not here. They have 0 rights under our constitution. The only rights they have are under the geneva convention and military law.
Rights that we've violated during those cute little 'enhanced interogation sessions'.
