My experience was in 87-90 and it was 2 guys I knew but there were others, again purely anecdotal.
I would gladly give the salaries of Fox News to the troops.
But they are a private company that doesn't depend on tax money unlike say ..Charlie Rangel.
But if we pulled all the troops back and cut the military in half, we could afford to pay them double then couldn't we ?
I mean with amazing success of soft diplomacy we hardly even need a military at all.

I just want to clear up that Welfare is not only for those who are too lazy to support themselves, it is actually unfortunate that people take advantage of the system. But my family was on welfare because my father passed away when I was really young. My mother had a full time job (public school teacher) and at times during the holidays a part time job when the big stores were hiring seasonal help. We barely kept afloat. Welfare helped her make ends meet even when I was working 20-30 hours a week through high school to help out.
So yes people abuse it but it is meant for good hardworking people too, when they are down on their luck.
