How about this ...the military is not a social program so payment to the members of the military are not welfare.
But why did it take so long to get the troops paid for their service ?

So please do tell how Tom DeLay and Bill Frist had to fight to get similar legislation on their respective floors, only to be subverted by the left. Please do tell (after all it was the time of Denny "unprecedented three hour vote tally" Hastert as majority leader)..... You can't, because it never happened.

The fact of the matter is, it took a Democrat controlled Congress to come up with and pass this legislation. I can give two fucks on how the president voted on "republican" sponsored bills as senator, that is wholly beside the point.(Chaff much?) We are talking about this bill

I would love to see the vote where Obama voted against such a measure, if it ever happened. I would love to see where all of the "god fearin'/military lovin' " republicans brought this bill up, preceding 2009. Because as far as I know, it was Rep. Betty Sutton (D-Ohio) that wrote and brought up H.R. 6205 during the 110th Congress.
