So you're telling me you've read the 1900 page bill? If not then who are you to tell me I'm not researching. Just because I think the bill is a bad decision for the long term, doesn't mean I have to post links of why I think so. I'm entitled to my opinion. Not to mention, any link that is posted that has any hint of being against what Obama is doing, is construed as biased and unreliable by you and all the other Obama supporters, no matter what the source.

Do I want everyone to have health coverage? Of course. Do I think the government, basically starting up their own company to do so is the answer? No. For the time being, it will be awesome for some (at the expense of others, as is par for the course with liberal legislation), but in the long term, I firmly believe that the lack of need for profits by the government option, will run every other private insurer out of town.

Does it work in other countries. Yes. However, the Obama administration is more interested in control and power moreso than they do about people having health care. They hate big companies, whether it be oil, insurance, etc... And I firmly believe they would be ok with them being the only game in town as far as health coverage....then what...a government monopoly.

I don't form opinions based on what "right wingers" say. Just because I share some of the same views doesn't mean I am taking their word for everything. And if you, hawg and the rest of the liberal club here believe everything Mr. Nobama says, then perhaps you are guilty of what you are accusing me of.

And like someone said earlier, let's get insurance to the people who don't have any, yet want coverage. But why am I forced to buy into it? Why will I be fined for not buying into the public option? Why will I be charged a penalty for not having the exact kind of health coverage Obama thinks I should? If they want to help the un-insured, fine. But then to tell me I have to buy it or else, is another thing.

My problem is not that you oppose it. That's fine if you do. My problem is when you use false statements and lies as a reason to oppose it. It is a lie to say it "socialism." It is a lie to say it is "government-run health care." Those are the facts, and to say otherwise is just flat-out false. That's the type of thing I and others have a problem with. You're thinking like a teabagger, and that is not a good thing.

Now things like this are why I say what I did. He only wants power and control and hates big business? What are you going to say next, that he also wants to suspend elections indefinitely? He hates big business so much that he isn't working to break up the big banks, right?

I don't agree with Obama or the Democrats on everything. Do you really think this is my ideal bill that I wanted to see? Hell no, but I do think it is decent and something has to be done and the Democrats are the only ones trying to do anything.

You wouldn't be forced into the public option, but if you want to argue over mandates, that's fine. I agree there shouldn't be a mandate to buy private insurance, only if there is a public option available to everyone would I support mandates. The bill doesn't open the public option to everyone, so I'm not a fan of the mandate. I hate that anti-abortion amendment that was passed, too. However, we also have to wait and see what the final bill that comes out of conference between the House and Senate to know what will be in the final bill.
