Not to diminish your point Summon, because it is a good one, but there are some of us who not only want to limit further federal growth, but in fact pull it back. There are a few Federally run programs and agencies I'd be happy to see either gone or removed to the state level. So I guess what I'm saying is don't assume that everyone who isn't a fan of this bill was quiet about other big government advances.

We drive people into bankruptcy do to this and have millions uninsured or underinsured. None of that exists in other countries. I'm serious when I say I can't understand WHY people feel the need to defend insurance companies? They don't offer a tangible service that the government cannot provide cheaper and without a profit motive. There is absolutely NO need for a profit motive when it comes to covering people's health, it just encourages denying or dropping coverage to maintain a profit.
As a side note, this bill still does not change that shitty system, it just improves it some. I'm arguing from a single-payer point-of-view.

TAXES ?
You heard of them right ?
But you are so blinded by the light of the messiah you don't see the pattern here do know ?
Too Big to Fail ?
We cut the payments to doctors and hospitals, they go bankrupt, we bail them out.
We know control the hospital, just like we control the banks and car companies and maybe soon some newspapers too.
But that isn't the government taking over, it's well meaning saint-like personages who are sacrificing so that they can clean up the mess that less well intenioned people have left behind.
