A lot of my feeling is this guy just broke, combine everything. He is most probaly is muslim, and likely has sympathies towards what he feels is the colateral suffering inflicted on innocent muslim people during the war on terror. He is a soldier who gets to hear about other american soldiers dieing everyday. He is a doctor treating the broken soldiers coming back home from a war he really probably doesn't believe in.

Who wouldn't crack under that, his life is a giant conflict of contradictions? How many years has he been under that kind of pressure and how was his family life at the time.

Seemingly normal people blow up under a lot less pressure than that and we get school and workplace shootings and in many ways this was a work place shooting.

We don't know the whole story and probably never will. This guy may have just cracked or he may have actually have had an intent to commit terrorism. Sadly we are looking through other peoples eyes and don't know what was going on between this man's ears.

The Bushes entered and departed the sprawling military facility in secret, having told the base commander they did not want press coverage of their visit, a source told Fox News.

The couple was described as "deeply concerned" about military families on Fort Hood after Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly opened fire on soldiers and civilians, killing 13 and wounding 38.

The Bushes, who have a 1,600-acre property known as Prairie Chapel Ranch less than 30 miles from Fort Hood in central Texas, spent between one and two hours visiting the wounded and their families.

The fact is, you don't get to decide who is a "real" Christian or a "real" Muslim and the people who consider themselves "real" Muslims seem more than willing to kill anyone and everyone to prove it.

I have no use for Catholics or Christians insofar as they impact my life.

But the simple fact is that it is ONLY Muslims who go on suicidal killing sprees on a regular basis.

We never stopped hearing about the RIGHT WING when that asshole shot up the Holocaust Museum but when a Muslim yells Ollie akbar and kills 13 people we are told not to jump to conclusions.

All Muslims are not a threat or dangerous or whatever term you want to use, which is a good thing since there are over a billion worldwide.

But if a tiny minority of a billion is still a lot of people and those people want to kill you and they don't care how touchy-feely you are about Islam.
They will gladly kill other Muslims if they feel they aren't of the right sect or are dressed wrong.
