    random coughing

this is a bit of a whining :P but more looking for advice on what the hell it is, without cluttering OTS (since i do that enough as it is)

anyways I keep getting annoyed that like probably a year or so ago i started having a problem of starting coughing whenever i eat anything made with milk and sometimes other foods as well. It feels like their mucus built up in my throat or something but never comes out and i keep coughing and coughing. Getting damn well annoyed with it (As i love cheese) sooo....

what the hell could it be? Can't be an allergy can it (being it didn't used to be like that)?

yes, it could be allergy. I think it's easier to consult a doctor, run a few allergy tests...doesn't seem too serious.

Allergies can spontaneously develop as we age.

I have a mild dairy allergy: It tends to just make me more mucousy than normal.

People with severe dairy allergies can get really fucked up by lactose. Go get some allergy tests...

off-topic question on allergies, is it possible to, for example (my case), have a bad allergy to milk (feel sicker then crap if i drink any) but not milk products?

lots of things contain lactose which is the allergen in milk. Many, many American foods contain dairy.

but thats the thing, is if it was an allergy to lactose shouldn't anything made with it make me feel as sick? (but they don't)

It depends on the quantity. And some processing can alter the protein's shape making it inert or less of an allergen.

Drinking a glass of milk is far concentrated than the quantity in say a biscuit that is made with milk. What about cheese? Does it cause problems?

quote fail :P. and cheese only causes the coughing/mucus problem thing. (use to cause nothing, could eat a whole block of it, and have )

I think your probly allergic. My mom suddenly developed a bad shellfish allergy about 5-8 years ago. No more shrimp at the beach... I was also somewhat allergic to milk for a few years then bam its gone.
